Nasoka: Ohrid

Overlooking an expansive lake in the historic coastal city of Ohrid sits quietly a modernist timepiece amiably coined as the Villa Savoye of North Macedonia by renowned North Macedonian architect Boris Chipan.

The ‘Youth Union Summer Retreat’ as it was formerly known was a contemporary building built in the last century in this four-millennia-old city, saw the transition of a resort town into its current isolation. Yet, the spirit of water activities in the city has never died down, giving a glimpse of hope for the resurrection, reformation and rejuvenation of this unique built heritage and inject adrenaline into this city that is almost asleep and forgotten.
